The day 15th August, 1947 will always be remembered as a historic day in India. It was on this day that India became independent from the British rule after a struggle by our freedom fighters. People all over India celebrate this day every year amidst great rejoicing.

Students of the Andrean Child Centre and Sunshine Nursery wore traditional clothes to celebrate India’s 71st Independence Day. Sir Michael Lopes, Supervisor of the Secondary section graced this short programme. Children sang the National Anthem and took the Pledge.

3 boys of the Senior K.G. spoke about Independence Day. A boy who entered as Mahatma Gandhi too, spoke about himself. This was followed by a presentation of 8 National symbols and our children singing 6 patriotic songs. Sir Michael addressed our boys and praised them for their enthusiastic participation. The morning ended on a happy note as each of our children were given a chocolate.
