Tuesday, 6th March, saw all roads leading to the Andrean Child Centre. There was an array of excitement as it was PICNIC DAY. Children along with their parents left at 9.30 a.m. for ‘fun’ outside ‘shala’ heading towards Funshala at Byculla. There was masti, singing and dancing in the bus by both children and parents. Funshala is a place where children have absolute fun in a traditional way but with a modern touch. The play equipment were child friendly thus providing activities to fill their world and helping them to become healthy both physically as well as mentally. After much energy spent there we moved to the Jijamata Udyan and in its shady surrounding had lunch. This was followed by a visit to the Humboldt Penguin Exhibit and a walk around to see some marine and avian species. Everyone enjoyed the day and ‘it will surely hold memories to treasure.’
