We use three magical words to smoothen our interactions with our family, friends and colleagues- “please, sorry and thank you”. I would like to add one more magical word to this list and that is “Wow!”
“Wow!” is indeed a magical word and it is a word that recognizes the world of miracles. Unfortunately, adults have lost the sense of wonderment and awe as they meet deadlines, shoulder responsibilities, pay bills and make ends meet. Many of us think robbed our lives of joy. Albert Einstein observes, “he who no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead; his eyes are closed.” Christopher Moore seconds Einstein, “Children see magic because they look for it.”
How do we restore a sense of “Wow!”? We have to open our eyes & minds to new possibilities. We have to allow ourselves to be surprised. We need to remove the limitations of prediction and control that diminish our capacity to be “Wow!” people. “Wow!” leads us from awe to a spiritual dimension. We journey from suspension of breath to admiring and glorifying God.
Stuff your eyes with wonder… live as if you’d drop dead in ten seconds. See the world. It’s more fantastic than any dream made or paid fir in factories. (Ray Bradbury)
All the best as you journey from the gloomy world to a sunnier world.
