Thousands laid down their lives so that our country can celebrate this day. Never forget their sacrifices, this was the back drop of the Independence Day programme held in our school. So very apt. The day started with the hoisting of the flag by the Chief Guest and our Manager, Fr. Clarence Fonseca, Principal, Fr. Magi Murzello and Secondary Supervisor, Mr. Michael Lopes. The National Anthem was sung with great fervour. The students prayed together for our Motherland.
St. Andrew’s always believe in fostering leadership and this was seen in the Investiture Ceremony, where the outgoing Council members handed over the school house flags to the newly appointed council members. It was a solemn ceremony.
St. Andrews has always considered it important to invest in young talents and the talents of tomorrow and this was so beautifully exhibited by our students through their speeches and dance.
The Fr. Roque Fernandes Scholarship were handed out to the deserving boys who had passed Std 10 during the year 2017-18 and 2018-19. Our Principal, Fr. Magi Murzello had initiated the Mission Sunshine project. Boys have been taught to show their gratitude and appreciate everything and everyone around them. A special trophy of appreciation was given to Cleophus Pinto an ex-student who has been living the mantra of appreciation.
The entire programme in the words of our Principal was of International Standard.
